The Business Development Manager is responsible for generating revenue from existing clients, building relationships with new clients,  seeking and identifying new sources of income for the company in all media channels and from all sectors of our markets. These include event sponsorship, advertising, digital services, lead generation campaigns, sponsored content,  and other ancillary services.

The BDM role requires an experienced sales professional who understands the many aspects of client building and relationship management, as well as the value and role of media in the business sector, particularly in working with our Media

Partners, our Association Partners, and our Advisory Boards. The BDM manages existing and past accounts, as well as prospecting, qualifying and closing new business as determined or assigned by the Publisher.

The primary process involves strong telephone skills, in-person meetings, connecting on business social media platforms such as Linkedin and supporting activities such as attending conferences, exhibitions, and other events as necessary.

Primary areas of responsibility are:

• Prospecting, qualification duties, and sales of advertising for all company media channels including but may not limited to DM Magazine and Foundation Magazine along with annual directories, special issues, and supplements etc.

• Handling of inbound inquiries from prospective clients and following up as directed by the agreement or by the Publisher on an ongoing basis

• Onsite support during industry trade shows

• Onsite support for company-owned events

The BDM is expected to maintain accurate and accessible records, notes, and files related to all sales activities. The BDM is required to meet and exceed assigned budgets. The BDM represents the company and the magazines in a professional, courteous and expeditious manner.
